Is the bass on the Letshuoer Astralis sub-bass focused or mid-bass punchy?

Both, which is unusual for a planar. The Letshuoer Astralis uses a 15.5 mm ring-shaped planar driver that behaves more like a good dynamic, with weighty sub-bass (the rumble you feel) and punchy mid-bass (the thump of a kick drum) on top of it. It's warm and full, not tight and fast.

How do vocals sound on the Letshuoer Astralis?

Laid-back. On the Letshuoer Astralis, voices are warm in tone but sit a step behind the bass and that very wide stage, so they are part of the picture and not the focus of it.

Is the treble on the Letshuoer Astralis smooth, sparkly or sharp?

Smooth, and soft on purpose. The rolled-back treble is a big part of why the Letshuoer Astralis sounds musical instead of clinical, and why nothing bites even on bright recordings. The price you pay is fine detail, because cymbal shimmer and room air are gentler here than on faster, brighter planars.

Is the Letshuoer Astralis fatiguing over long sessions?

Not for most people. The Letshuoer Astralis is warm with soft treble and a compact aluminium shell, which makes it easy company for a long evening. The one thing to watch is the bass, which is generous.

Is the soundstage of the Letshuoer Astralis intimate or wide?

Wide, and then some. The Letshuoer Astralis is one of only three sets in the shop that I rate as expansive for soundstage, and the other two are Unique Melody flagships costing about ten times as much. Instruments spread well outside your head, which suits film scores, live albums and ambient music. Fine detail inside that space is gentle, so it's big more than precise.

Does the Letshuoer Astralis fit smaller ears?

It should. The Letshuoer Astralis has a compact CNC aluminium shell that stays comfortable for long listens, despite the large 15.5 mm driver inside. Aluminium is a touch heavier than resin, so a tip that grips well helps keep it in place. If your ears are on the small side and you're unsure, book a listening session in Utrecht and try it before you buy.
