The Astralis is built around Letshuoer's fifth-generation ring planar — a 15.5 mm circular diaphragm instead of the usual rectangular one. That shape gives it deeper, more textured bass than most planars manage, a midrange that's natural and present without being pushed forward, and a detailed, airy treble that avoids the hard edge planars often drift into.

Reviewers keep saying the same thing: it sounds more like a great dynamic-driver IEM than a planar. Warm and musical, not clinical. The stage is wide and enveloping, which pays off on electronic music, orchestral recordings and anything with space in the mix. The included DT01 Pro USB-C DAC cable means a phone drives it well.

A warm, musical planar with deep bass and a wide, enveloping stage — it sounds more like a great dynamic driver than a planar.

 

This is for you if: You want planar speed and detail but warm and musical with it, and you listen to a lot of spacious, layered recordings.

Look at other IEMs if: You want a clinical, analytical planar or an aggressive, forward sound. This one is smooth and easygoing.
