Applicable law
Dutch law applies to every purchase made through vividsound.nl. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
If something goes wrong
If you have a complaint, email info@vividsound.nl first — I read every message myself and want the chance to make it right.
If we can't resolve it together, you can take the matter to a Dutch court. For cross-border EU purchases, the European Consumer Centre Netherlands (eccnederland.nl) can help mediate.
Your right to cancel (14-day withdrawal)
You have 14 days from receiving your order to cancel, no reason needed. This is your statutory right under Dutch and EU law (Burgerlijk Wetboek 6:230o). Full instructions and the withdrawal form are on the Returns & refunds page.
This right applies as long as the hygiene seal on the earpieces is intact — earphones go inside your ears, so once the seal is broken the change-of-mind return no longer applies. Faulty items are covered separately, below.
Conformity guarantee
Under Dutch and EU law, every product I sell is guaranteed to do what it's supposed to do for a reasonable lifetime — for earphones that means at least two years from the date of delivery, and often longer for a set built to last. If a product develops a fault that isn't down to misuse, you're entitled to repair, replacement, or a refund.
Warranties
On top of your legal rights, the manufacturers back their products directly:
- Earphones — 1 year from the manufacturer
- Cables — 6 months from the manufacturer
These are extra. They sit on top of your statutory rights — they don't shorten or replace them. Your two-year conformity right above still stands even after a manufacturer's window closes.
Cables get the shorter window because a detachable cable is partly a wear part. A manufacturing fault — a dead channel, a connector that fails out of the box — is covered. Everyday wear, like a sheath that frays or a connector that loosens after months of plugging and unplugging, is normal use, not a defect.
