What we hear

Best for

Music and games at home, where you want a wide, open sound.

Not for

Noisy places like trains, because the vented shell lets outside sound in.

Natural Bass
Bass is there when the music asks for it, never more.
Neutral Tone
Close to how the recording was made, without adding colour.
Natural Vocals
Voices sit where the recording put them, clear and even.
Neutral and airy Treble
Cymbals and strings sound real, and extra air at the very top makes music feel open.
Wide Soundstage
Music spreads past your ears, with room between the instruments.

What others ask  about Kiwi Ears Aether

Is the bass on the Kiwi Ears Aether sub-bass focused or mid-bass punchy?

Neither is pushed. The Kiwi Ears Aether has fast, clean bass that reaches low without a big boost, so kick drums sound tight and quick rather than heavy. If you want bass you feel in your chest, this one is on the lighter side.

How do vocals sound on the Kiwi Ears Aether?

Natural and clean. On the Kiwi Ears Aether voices sit at a normal distance, not pushed forward and not pulled back, which makes speech in games, films and podcasts easy to follow.

Is the treble on the Kiwi Ears Aether smooth, sparkly or sharp?

Airy and open, and mostly smooth. Most reviewers hear the treble on the Kiwi Ears Aether as clean and well extended, but a few found some S sounds a little hot at high volume, so keep the volume sensible if you are sensitive to treble.

Is the Kiwi Ears Aether fatiguing over long sessions?

For most people, no. The bass is not heavy and the treble is airy rather than sharp, so the Kiwi Ears Aether works for long gaming sessions. The large shell is the thing to check: in small ears it can start to press after a few hours.

Is the soundstage of the Kiwi Ears Aether intimate or wide?

Wide. This is the main reason to buy the Kiwi Ears Aether: sound spreads far to the left and right, and it is easy to hear where each sound comes from, which helps a lot in shooters and open-world games.

Does the Kiwi Ears Aether fit smaller ears?

Not very well. The Kiwi Ears Aether has a large, vented shell, so it can feel bulky in small ears, and the vents let in more outside noise than a sealed earphone. Medium and large ears usually have no problem.
