7th Acoustics Supernova with a copper cable on top of the Supernova box

What we hear

Natural Bass
Bass is there when the music asks for it, never more.
Neutral Tone
Close to how the recording was made, without adding colour.
Natural Vocals
Voices sit where the recording put them, clear and even.
Smooth and airy Treble
The top end is soft but still open, so music sounds light without ever getting sharp.
Holographic Soundstage
Music sounds all around you, almost like speakers in a room.

What others ask  about 7th Acoustics Supernova

Is the bass on the 7th Acoustics Supernova sub-bass focused or mid-bass punchy?

Closer to sub-bass focused, but not in a basshead way. The 7th Acoustics Supernova uses two vented Sonion balanced armatures for the low end, which reach deep while staying fast and tight instead of physical. Bass starts and stops exactly when the recording does. If you want slam in your chest, this isn't your set.

How do vocals sound on the 7th Acoustics Supernova?

Natural, with weight and air around them. On the 7th Acoustics Supernova a voice arrives the way it would in a real room, neither pushed forward nor set back, and the guitars and strings beside it hold their body without turning thick. The Supernova gives you the whole room.

Is the treble on the 7th Acoustics Supernova smooth, sparkly or sharp?

Smooth, and it extends a long way. A Knowles super-tweeter carries the top end of the 7th Acoustics Supernova, and the treble reaches up smoothly with nothing sharp enough to make you reach for the volume. It's natural in level, not dark and not bright.

Is the 7th Acoustics Supernova fatiguing over long sessions?

No. Two hours into the 7th Acoustics Supernova you're still listening, which is the best thing I can say about any set. The tuning is even and unforced, with no treble spike and no bass pressure building up. The shells are thicker than most, but the part that touches your ear is smaller than it looks, and it disappears after ten minutes.

Is the soundstage of the 7th Acoustics Supernova intimate or wide?

Neither. The 7th Acoustics Supernova sounds like a real room, natural in size with a believable sense of depth, instead of stretching everything wide for effect. Instruments have air around them and stay where the recording put them.

Does the 7th Acoustics Supernova fit smaller ears?

Probably, with a caveat. The 7th Acoustics Supernova has thicker shells than most, so it sticks out a bit more, but the part that actually touches your ear is smaller than the size suggests. Once it's seated it disappears after about ten minutes. Every set is built to order in Indonesia, so if you're unsure, try it in Utrecht before you order.
