The DN142 runs seven drivers a side, each on its own job. The result is a wide, organised stage where you can place every instrument in space. Bass stays clean and defined rather than bloated. The midrange sounds natural. The top end is crisp and airy, catching the snap of cymbals and the breath in a vocal.

You don't need a dedicated player or amp for it. A basic USB-C dongle off your phone is enough. The 3D-printed resin shells are light and easy to wear for hours, and the deep-blue faceplate — inspired by the Chinese myth of Ao Bing — is one of the best-looking designs in the lineup.

This is for you if: You love detail, air and a wide sense of space, and you're driving it from a phone or a basic dongle rather than a stack of gear.

Look at other IEMs if: You want thick mid-bass warmth or punch, or you're sensitive to treble on bright tracks. The sub-bass goes deep, but the mid-bass stays lean and the top end is crisp, not soft.
